I am sorry I didn't manage to attend the Live shows on Monday & Tuesday but I had to be up early following day so I have just watched them on the replay. This particular lesson I find is stunning. I just have to do it. It has such beautiful vibrant colours in it. It will be mesmerising to anyone who looks at it. It just draws your attention time and again because there is something new every time you look at it.
Thank you both so much for bringing joy and laughter in to my home via my iPad. We get so much more than a painting lesson from you both. You complement each other in that Ginger is the expert artist and Jon is the expert techie and a whizz on the computer and getting the lessons on the website. But you also spark of each other and it is so cool to listen to. As I have said before, we get so much more than a painting lesson, we get great stories from Ginger, an art quiz, laughter and happiness. I need my two doses of Ginger and Jon every week to keep me buoyed up for the rest of the week. I love you guys. Love and artsy hugs from your friend in England. xxxxx
I'm going to be honest. This wasn't the type of painting I would do. But after listening to your introduction, I will do it. You are absolutely right about acquiring the skills and repeating them so eventually I can do a painting on my own. I use to play a clarinet, in order to play a favorite composer's piece, I needed to go over the basics in order to play the harder piece. I just love listening to all your videos while I work now. I never know what new information I will learn. You are my favorite art teacher! You really care about teaching people about how to do acrylic painting. You are passionate about wanting us to learn. You really do care and that's what makes me keep coming back to learn from you. Thank you for all you do! (and Jon)!
I loved this tutorial, so beautiful, such incredible bright colours! Thank you Ginger and Jon, you are both so wonderful! So happy to be part of your art community. Working towards becoming part of your online art academy as soon as I can work it into my budget.
Thank You… for your humor, all your stories and the love of teaching ART to all of us. I truly love to watch and learn. But most of all I Love the relationship between you and Jon… It is really inspiring. Thank you… for making me laugh out loud…
I love watching you and Jon and all the stories you tell. I work at home and I usually have something running in the background while I work and a lot of times I watch your tutorials, and even though I can't paint along I just like to watch and listen and learn, so you'll get a lot of play time from me :). You are providing such a wealth of art information and I really appreciate it so much. And whoever said there is no room for humor in art….seriously, I can't even….
Ginger Cook I am new to this you tube world, what do you mean by 1.5 hrs is your magic number before they drop you or the 5 min video is a death warrant. This is my first time seeing your work, so far I'm very impressed. I am handicapped and am pretty much confined to bed 24/7. I never thought anything could be this horrific. Prior to this I was an RN in the Emergency Room of a level 1 Trauma Center and before that I had been a paramedic firefighter so my life has always been very fast paced and very physically demanding. I have always done some type of art. I started out in school with clay and photography I later added sketching and pastels as they were easy to do at the firehouse. Oil painting is a bit to messy to do in the bed so I switched an am trying the acrylics. The problem comes when trying to buy supplies on line or through someone else going to the store for me and getting the correct items. But the really hard part is getting supplies on sale or at a bargain. I went from a high 5 figure a year job to social security, and since I'm still in my 50s I don't get what I would have gotten if I was 62 or 65. So where this statement is going can you suggest someplace to buy my supplies that is "cheap". It need to be mail order or in the St. Louis, MO area. Thank you for sharing you time, talent and teachings, I truly do appreciate it. A person could yell at you if they are using the mic instead of typing their responses. Again thank you very much!!! PS, I like your sense of humor so phooey to that person that said there is no place in teaching for humor. You put a smile on my face and a few outright laughs, those are far and few in my world nowadays. Sorry this got so long.
Thank you so much for this beautiful relaxing painting. I have been in a bad way since my brother in law died last week. He was 35 and he died because the doctor gave him a medicine that reacted with a medication he was already on. I'm not trying to bring you down I just wanted to tell you that your painting and your stories helped me get through the rest of the day with a smile on my face. ((I love you Andy and we all really miss you))
You are an amazing teacher. Cinnamon is a great teacher but there's nothing that can replace age and experience. I watch both of you but I find myself gravitating to your style and way of teaching. Thank you for your dedication to passing on the knowledge you have acquired in this field.
I r. try my best just cant seem to get it right. I have done serval of your other oaintings and love them! eally love this lion! My problem is my painting ends up looking like a mask instead of your depiction. Sometimes I cant hear the paints you are mixing
Working on it… I'm back ? I started my own company a few weeks ago and I was so busy and no time for anything (if you come to Bruges let me know?). Now back to your videos that I missed so much so I just started with this beautiful lion ?.
A flat wisp brush works great for making hair look real, It looks just like a rake. It has stiff bristles but the paint can be brushed on lightly to make a several hairs at a time. It should have been called a rake brush..
What kind of black pen are you using to blacken the space around the eyes. and what kind of white pen are you using is it an acrylic pen. What is it called?
OMG ? this is truly stunning wow you truly are a brilliant artist ?? ? beautiful made me feel I was back home in Africa instead of the U.K. many thanks Angela xx❤️?? ?

Hi Angela thank you so much for sharing this lovely lion, I'm kinda late but this is amazing.
Working on it… I'm back ? I started my own company a few weeks ago and I was so busy and no time for anything (if you come to Bruges let me know?). Now back to your videos that I missed so much so I just started with this beautiful lion ?.
I really like the way you simplify sketching a subject, it makes it look doable otherwise it can be quite overwhelming to paint something like this?
Amazing! This I think is your best work yet here on YouTube. Or maybe that’s because I love lions lol
Magnificent!!!
Wow…..I really like this and want to try it but it looks way too complicated!
