    Hi Karen — looking at the vaporeon it seems you forgot to add water distortion to the body. Water acts like a magnifier so the lower half and the upper half (out of water) wouldn't align properly – also the wave splashes would have broken up the lower half too so wouldn't be a true representation of the lower body and to correct proportions.

    Wonderful tutorial! I've always had a fear of coloring water but this tutorial has given me course to give it a try! The beach totally reminds me of Cannon beach in Oregon, the big rock in the background, I'm such a fan of your style! Have you ever though about illustrating children's books? You'd be fantastic at it! Your use of color and beautiful backgrounds are unparalleled 🙂
