I'm a beginner. I have a question, if I may, please and thank you. In another lesson, he mentioned that in general, objects further away are lighter. In this tutorial, he painted the sky darker at the top and lighter at the horizon, which is further away consistent with the rule. But the water is painted darker near the horizon, which is the opposite. Why doesn't water follow the same rule for distance?

Hi Ian what a wonderful explanation for a beginner. I did this painting 3 days ago, can I still add a palm tree to it even if it's very dry? Thank you Ian
