I'm loving these videos. I have a reference question. Do you recommend the reference be printed out rather than be displayed on a tablet or monitor? I know the backlight will change the values.

Great idea! I never thought of establishing my values in the beginning rather than identifying them at the end. I bet this saves a lot of time in terms of pushing and pulling during the painting! 🥰

About the brush work on the hill, I just recently heard somewhere (possibly Payne, not sure) but the brush strokes on landscape elements should follow the path that rain water would travel on it's surface.

    Thanks for another great video.

Thanks Chris. I am so going to paint that. I've been doing landscapes in acrylic for a while now but an moving to oils. Love how you explain and break everything down. Awesome.

Great video! Can you do one where you talk about stress and axiety related to painting. I often sit down and get really stressed and also feel like I want to rush the painting for no reason.

What software/app do you use to show the colors in your video? I struggle with identifying some colors within photos. The circle that shows the color and warm or cool coolers is helpful. Always great content…..Thank you!

Hi Chris! Your videos gave me the confidence to start painting again last year after a looong hiatus. You're an awesome teacher! I've been away from the channel for a while (the Nic Cage painting was in its earlier stages, lol!) I plan to be painting a lot more over the next several weeks, so I'm glad I checked in on the channel! Thanks a bunch! 😊
