Your good at this. I could only suggest is soften the lines on some portraits.

I'm kind of at a stage where I feel I can draw a very realistic person, just not the person I'm trying to actually draw. It always seems like there is just something slightly off that makes my drawing look completely different. Pretty frustrating.

Is it weird that for me it is easier to just get straight to drawing by looking at the actual features? This shapes-first-method somehow is more difficult for me. Maybe someone can relate, would be interesting to know ????

Have not drawn in awhile. Was never real good at people. Of course practice makes perfect. The Loomis Method is perfect though it kind of makes it like a grid to follow. I was taught symmetry when it comes to people, but most of the time people that does not apply.

I wonder how to watch or look easily to find all the face lines and draw it directly to the right scale

Starting with the eyebrows really helped with placing the nose and then having the nose helped place the mouth. Super smart! I tend to start with the eyes but this makes a whole lot more sense!
